DIDEM YAGCI

Didem Yağcı's creates unique wall sculptures through her own technique by using plywood panels as layers. Her sculptures are based upon the architecture, design & installation psychology of metropolises, and the visually coded hierarchy of the urban areas, emphasizing the relationship between the human’s position in society with the illusional relation on the human’s identity and evolution.  Didem Yağcı's wooden sculptures form kinetical patterns that also express notions of creation, infinity and eternity. Her method of working with wood is unprecedented so that she layers the delicate pieces and sands them by hand and placing them together to create three-dimensional canvases with richly textured, impasto-like surfaces.
