RANA DURAK
Rana Durak was born in 2002 in İstanbul. She began her art education in 2014 under the roof of EÇA, where the understanding of structural design, composition, and scale she acquired at an early age formed the foundation of her artistic practice. Continuing her undergraduate studies at Mimar Sinan Fine Arts University, Department of Architecture since 2021, Rana Durak further developed her production practice through the spatial, structural, and perspective-oriented approach of architectural thinking.
At the core of her work lie iconic Lego minifigures; the artist uses this minimal aesthetic as a multi-layered narrative tool to depict compositions from classic art history, social narratives, as well as historical events and figures. This unique blend of architectural discipline and pop-cultural narrative makes her work immediately distinguishable.
She has actively taken part in numerous major art fairs and group exhibitions. She continues her artistic practice under the roof of RED art İstanbul.
